Gary Plauche and Jeff Doucet: A Morality Tale (Warning: Graphic video)
Jeff Doucet was a 25 year old Karate instructor. He taught karate to the Plauche's three sons. Jeff took a real liking to one of the son's....Jody Plauche.
Later in life, Jody Plauche would describe how he was groomed by Jeff Doucet. Jody was 10 years old when the grooming started. Then Jeff would take him on trips , and the grooming turned into molestation and rape.
The Plauche family considered Doucet a friend. The parents viewed Doucet as a great mentor for their kids.
One day when Jody was 11, Jeff Doucet told Jody's Mom that he was taking him to a store, and that they would be back in 15 minutes.......
Instead, Jeff Doucet kidnapped Jody, and took him to California. Doucet had also raped Jody during this time frame.
The cops were able to track down Doucet and Jody, after Doucet allowed Jody to call his family.
Jody was brought back and reunited with his family. Doucet told police that he had been abused when he was a child. Doucet told police that he had molested so many children that he could not remember the number of how many. Doucet was a prolific child molester, by the ripe old age of 25.
If he had more time to speak with police or prosecutors, maybe Doucet could have helped them with other cases he was involved in....or maybe the names of other people he may have been involved with.
But there would be no trial. Gary Plauche had learned what truly happened to his son, the molestation and rape. And then some idiot reporter tells Gary when Jeff is being flown back to Baton Rouge.

Gary Plauche took a manslaughter plea, and the Judge gave him a suspended jail sentence...parole and community service. Gary Plauche did not serve any jail time for the murder of Jeff Doucet.
Cannot blame Gary Plauche for what he did. What parent wouldn't snap? But if the authorities had more time with Jeff Doucet, there's no telling what information could have been learned.

ReplyDeleteNot a fan of vigilante justice, and I wholeheartedly agree with your point. But perhaps we should have a LOT more regard for the instincts of parents protecting their children (husbands protecting their wives, etc.) Natural human instincts based on millennia of experience and training can only be pushed so far by the pedo agenda. At some point, people cave in to gut instinct and fight back.
